The Customs Team makes sure that we comply with the rules and regulations of doing global business. From processing incoming and outgoing goods to handling duties and taxes, this team manages orders made by customers outside of the European Union.

 

To support our international team we are currently searching for a full-time employee as Customs Operations Manager based in our office in New York.

 

Responsibilities:

•    Prepare and process import and export documentation according to customs regulations, laws,

     or procedures.
•    Other duties often include:

     guiding goods through customs, preparing and submitting documents, determining tariff and

     duty payments, tracking shipments, and using the tariff coding system to classify shipments.

•    Maintain knowledge and understanding of the standards of import and export authority for each product.
•    Expedite the clearing of cargo.
•    Request or compile necessary import documentation, such as customs invoices, certificates of origin,

     and cargo-control documents.
•    Monitor or trace the location of goods.
•    Gather and collect various commercial data and prepare required reports.
•    Analyze processes and procedures to reduce operating costs for import businesses.
•    Educate and consult with the global business about US custom laws.
•    Work with DHL and FedEx on inbound efficiencies.

 

Requirements:

•    Valid Broker’s License
•    Understanding of all procedures that must be done for clearing air cargo shipments into the US.
